16 oz can
Pours dark, mostly clear reddish brown, no head retention.
Smells of toast, caramel, candi sugar and pecan.
Flavor is of candi sugar, toast, pecan, some mild banana esters and toffee.
Medium body, tingly carbonation on the tongue.
This is pretty decent, good flavor and drinks pretty easy. Good rich malt sweetness like you'd expect from the style. It's a little simpler than what you usually expect from this style, missing some of the additional layers of really good Belgian ales. Body could stand to be heavier. Maybe I got a can that was a little flat, definitely expected more head to this one. All in all worth trying, could see myself having this again, but it's more like a really rich brown ale than a true Belgian.
