500ml bottle from SuperValu, Westport (€3.75):
Dark mahogany to black with a thumb-sized, foamy beige head that settles as a thin surface lacing. Smoky with vanilla, some caramel & oak; strong nose with faint alcohol & coffee too. Coffee, roasted malts & oak are quite strong with taste; there's some caramel & smoked flavours with dark chocolate & a whiskey kick. It's medium to full bodied, smooth but slightly on the strong side.
