Deep dark brown where light passes only through the edge of the glass. Lasting beige head. Latticed lace.
Plenty of black patent malt (read: burnt) aroma. Reminds me of a very dry stout. In the background, I also get caramel and cream.
The flavor is a little bit more mellow but there's still plenty of burnt malt flavors. The liquid is a little thin but the carbonation is muted. Still, it's a bit watery. The finish is more stout than IPA with charcoal and blackened toast.
