A classic German brew, Doc’s Hefe is served in a Weizen glass designed exclusively for our brew. Hefe, meaning “with yeast” in German, lives up to its name by keeping a cloudy, unfiltered appearance. With little to no bitterness, hints of banana and clove, and loads of Vitamin B12 - it’s what the doctor ordered!

We've all heard that we need to get more fruit, herb, spice, whole grains, probiotics and vegetation in our diet. And the brewers at Gravely are heeding these warnings and trying to help their customers with a German styled hefeweizen that exhibit all of these flavors in a single sip. You could say that it's just what the doctor ordered.
Extremely cloudy and pouring a matte burnt orange color, the nearly opaque beer rolls onto the nose with a beautiful bouquet of tropical fruit, light citrus, cereal and herbal grasses. After a slight twinge of spice, the taste then leads with a pastry-like, whole wheat breadiness. Sweet, creamy and starchy, bold suggestions of sugar cookie, honey and poundcake arise.
Nearly cakey in its taste and feel, the middle palate blooms with the striking likeness of banana, apple and lemon for a strong ester profile. Not to be outdone, the yeast spices share their own clove, vanilla, bubblegum and white pepper flavors to suggest something of the juicy fruit ilk. Although rich late on the palate, the hops are more pronounced than usual with a peppery, grassy and minty impression.
Medium bodied however seeming richer and thicker because of its bold breadiness, but the beer's summery profile of fruit and spice lightens the taste while the herbal hops, mild alcohol cooling action and blossoming carbonation provides a lift for the sugar and starch. Trailing with a medium length bitter hop spice, the aftertaste continues the yin and yang of fruit esters and yeast spices.
