L: Had this beer on-tap at Effingham's, poured into a pint glass. Had a medium brown color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a quarter inch of creamy, off white head that lasted a below average amount of time. Fair lacing.
S: A nice aroma of malt, chocolate, a nutty quality, root beer, a smokiness, and brown sugar.
T: Tasted of a moderate amount of malt (present throughout), a tinge of smokiness (not as much as expected), lots of root beer, some of the brown ale nuttiness, and a hint of brown sugar. One of the more interesting brown ale flavors I've tried recently. The addition of root beer and brown sugar worked oddly well. Tasty stuff.
F: A decent amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: An unusual and enjoyable twist on the brown ale style. Drinkable.
