I don't see a date listed on the can.
Appearance: It has a dark brown body that appears mostly black with the exception of a darker brown color at the edges of the glass and where it tapers in at the bottom. The head is very large and fluffy with various sized bubbles. It has a khaki head with very good retention.
Aroma: An aroma of toasted coconut comes through right away. There is also a heavily kilned grain aroma that comes across as charcoal on the nose. A sweet cream scent dances under it all.
Taste: Toasted coconut comes through right off the bat. There is a sweet milk and coconut flavor in the middle. The aftertaste is slightly metallic.
Mouthfeel: It feels minimally textured with no bitterness or complexity on the palate. Medium-light body.
Overall: It starts out with a great aroma and a simple but enjoyable flavor profile. The can states that this is "7.4% ABV" which differs from what is advertised on BA. The can states that "ROASTED CACAO NIBS FROM UGANDA AND VANILLA FROM MADAGASCAR COMBINE WITH TOASTED COCONUT." The cacao doesn't seem to come through but the coconut definitely does. There is a sweetness to the beer which might be attributed to the vanilla as well, which comes across as sweet cream. The beer could use more body but otherwise it was enjoyable to drink. I could pick it up from time to time.
