Poured from a pint can. From the label: "Juicy New England Style IPA brewed with orange peel and hundreds of pound of Blood Orange puree. Hopped with Mandarina, Citra, Simcoe and Mosaic."
Pours a hazy amber with a solid head that takes its time dissipating.
Smells of citrus peel and bread. A bit of wood rosin and pine from the hops, but definitely citrus peel.
Surprising bittersweet citrus taste on the front end, with a decent malt backbone and balanced hops throughout. Fruity and salty with some sugary chewiness. Not a whole lot of bitterness on the backend; just tangy, sweet-sourdough, lip-smacking mouthfeel.
Overall: this beer is fantastic for a $3.50 can at Kroger in SWVA. Heady ABV hidden behind sweet, tangy goodness. What a treat. Drink for breakfast.
