Hop Bursted and DDH with Michigan grown Cashmere Hops. Hop bursting, or adding all hops after the boil, is a technique that maximizes hop flavor and aroma while adding little bitterness. Look for notes of apricot, orange marmalade, overripe melon, and canned peaches.

Undated can. Purchased at the brewery 5/21/25. Per Instagram, can release was approximately 5/20/25, so it's fresh.

L: Pours an opaque gold with a short creamy white head that sticks around for a while. Spider webs of lacing.

S: Aromas of peach and orange. A little melon.

T: Peaches up front. Some melon in the middle. It's a sublime medley. Finishes dry but only slightly bitter. No alcohol heat.

F: Medium mouthfeel and carbonation.

O: A really good NEDIPA from one of the best breweries in Milwaukee. The peach / melon flavor profile is delicious.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours hazy yellow orange with a fluffy white head. Smells of grassy and citrus hops. Tastes of grassy hops with nice creamy citrus. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

Hazy light orange with a finger of dense yellowed head. Sheets of lacing.

Big aroma of citrus, white wine, vanilla cream and white pepper.

More underripe peach than citrus in the taste, but otherwise with similar elements carrying over. Flashes of coconut, too. Fairly strong hop burn.

Creamy feel with restrained carbonation.

A well-made, upper-echelon NEIPA.

9/7/24 - (Can - Home) (Chicago, IL) Can Notes: Received as part of a trade with Micah @greenbayba on BA, refrigerated upon returning home until opening this evening. 16 oz Double IPA, no can date, 8.0% ABV. Hop Bursted and Double Dry Hopped India Pale Ale. Drink Slow Beer. Brewed & Canned by 1840 Brewing Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the historic neighborhood of Bay View, 342 E. Ward Street.

Can Tasting Notes: Hop Bursted and DDH with Michigan grown cashmere hops. Hop bursting, or adding all hops after the boil, is a technique that maximizes hop flavor and aroma while adding little bitterness. Look for notes of apricot, orange marmalade, overripe melon. and canned peaches.

Appearance: Poured about 12 of the 16 oz into a pint tulip glass. Part freshly hazy squeezed Orange Juice, part Orange Dreamsicle, Creamy puffy white head leaves generous clumpy lacing and cream cover over the base. Looks great. 4.5

Aroma: Citrus lead, nice peach backing. Freshly squeezed juice. Mild in strength, enticing. 3.75

Taste: Nice freshly squeezed juice, orange once again with the lead, nice peach with almost equal billing, some grapefruit and melon noted as well. Fresh fruit basket, yes please. 4.25

Mouthfeel: Can tasting notes misleading, as there is a solid basis of hop bitterness to help balance the sweet aromas bursting from go. Drinks easy at first, but at to the listed ABV level. Faint hop burn initially, juicy medium body, gentle faint carbonation. Orange peach finish, really nice. 4.25

Overall: Really glad I received this beer in exchange. Another banger from 1840, they offer multiple styles I find very well brewed. This held up very well over the 3-4 + months since canning. Among the best NE Style DIPA I've enjoyed over the past decade. Really need to stop at this brewery the next time I'm in Milwaukee. Thank you so much Micah! 4.25

This beer tastes fantastic! It's hop bursted and DDH with Michigan grown hops. Bursting or adding the hops after the boil maximizes hop flavor and aroma while adding a little bitterness. If I still lived in Rockford MI this beer and M-43 would be staples in my fridge.

Poured a bright and hazy yellowish peach color with an inch thick white head. Fruity aromas of apricots and peaches followed by taste of ripen melon. Mouthfeel is very smooth, almost creamy. No hop burn. Surprisedly not aggressive for a double IPA. Flavors are subtle with nuances of various fruits. I absolutely love the reference to Seinfeld!
