sour oat cream ale done with mango, passion fruit, and lactose, a nice beer, summery and drinkable, looks like they do a ton of variants of this, seems like a great base to use for different fruits and such, not too sour to drink on, fully and soft from the oats but not heavy or starchy really, and smooth for being acidic. the mango and passion fruit both pop in the aroma of this mouthwatering tart cloudy orange brew, sort of an orange juice look to it, frothy almost inch of white head on it too. the nose is sweet from the tropical mango, i get a peach or even bellini note, lactic souring all the way, not overly sweet from the lactose it seems more from the fruit, the grain is largely out of the way, and the passion fruit brings some pleasant tang to this on top of the bacterial element, sympathetic and fresh to me, natural and not overdosed although pretty bold as they go. the flavor is nice too, mango first through the front half, juicy and pulpy and also natural, while the passion fruit rides hardest in the back half ramping up to the swallow, puckery with some grounding oat character and a hint of red currant to me, sharp for a flash like that, nice against the sweetness this carries, and overall this is very well proportioned, nicely carbonated, and pleasing to drink, fuller feeling while staying well away from that smoothie sour zone where everything always presents as forced and cheap. great flavors here, nice combination of fruits, 1840 is flying way under the radar but really killing it! had a blast in here, epic beer list!

Tasted in a Rastal Teku from a 750 ml bottle on May 13, 2018. Kettle sour brewed with mango, passion fruit and lactose. Look is not very hazy. Smell and taste is sweet fruit cocktail. Feel is a little flat and thin.
