Served in a tulip. Pours one shade shy of black with an opaque clarity and a loose, quarter-inch, mocha-colored head that dissipates into a frothy band around the shoulders and an oily slick across the center. Nose expresses rich chocolate and cinnamon, with a hint of chilis in the background. Taste is quite lovely - notes of vanilla and the barrel come forth in the flavor profile and finishes with a hint of challis at the end. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with an even carbonation, a light oiliness to the texture and some residual heat that lingers between quaffs. Overall, well-balanced yet complex. I generally not a fan of chili stouts; however, this comes together nicely.

Matte black with a short but densely creamy tan blanket.

Earthy roasted chili starts mild but sneaks up with a spicy warmth that gets hotter over time. This is tamped down by an unctuous mole backing, though I didn't detect much barrel.
