Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours translucent yellow with a small white head. Smells of sweet grain and very slight earthy hops. Tastes of sweet grain with earthy and grassy hops. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

The Dunedin Sound 1840
A -very slightly cloudy and very pale yellow. Prolific head of tiny uniform bubbles that cascade like bearing balls in a cycle. A light and lazy lacing clings down the walls of a semiconical Pilsner glass. A ring persists a full hour after pouring.
S-aroma of fresh hay, dried grass, yeast, and various garden greens.
T-so many phenols! The grassiness (more toasted than green) we expect in a Pils without the metallic overload. The malt is clean, crisp, front and center, but the hops bill vies for attention: the subtle and copious mix of grape, spice, and tropical esters evokes another fruit of the vine: garden fresh tomato. Biscuit and light golden syrup round out the finish.
M- medium body resulting from a solid malt and persistent effervescence
D- superb Pilsner-style lager. Maybe the best I've had. Tame enough for the Silver Bullet set, but complex enough for the most avid craft connoisseur. Definitely buying and trying another bottle next time I see it. The name serves a triple-entendre: from a brewer that's produced Florisconsin, this could reference Dunedin, FL or Dunedin, NZ—both soundly perched on the inlet of a bay; the latter having cultivated a punk rock scene persisting since the mid 80s. When pouring this beer, type Dunedin Sound into your YouTube or Spotify and enjoy the Sound for which this lager’s named.
