Deep amber color, almost brown. Long lasting frothy head although it's a bit on the small side. Nice film left on the glass for lace.
Smells like highly hopped homebrew, which means I'm getting some residual yeast to the nose. Some background toast aromas as well. Nice blend.
The flavor features the black pepper-like hop bitterness up front. Subtly, there's nice darker malt (perhaps Crystal?) throughout the tasting. Here, I cannot tease out the yeast flavors. Some creaminess which also gives a better than expected mouthfeel. Long black pepper aftertaste.
