courtesy of my wife; picked up at grocery outlet in gresham, OR; first from mad cow; 'brewed w/ cranberry, orange zest, cinnamon, habanero, scotch bonnet, carolina reaper, and ghost peppers'
vessel: la fin du monde tulip
p- rose/ruby with a massive fluffy white head; good retention
n- med-bold; grassy and buttery notes, with a strawberry-like sweetness mixed in; inviting
t- definitely not what I was expecting- hot, hot, hot! (full disclosure: I didn't read the label before sipping it) A quick grassy/buttery forward over biscuity malt leads to a hot chili pepper finish; capsaicin heat lingers in the throat and on the lips; becomes more balanced and drinkable as it warms, with berry sweetness coming out to offset the heat
mf- light-med bodied; med-high carb
o- unique for sure; nicely-done, though; much more drinkable than I thought it was going to be upon my first few sips
