(revisit) A year later, the looks continue to impress and the nose fits my previous review. The taste doesn’t have that fruity edge I noted (plus), but also doesn’t seem to let the malt play the lead. It has nutty opening but a down period until a huskiness joins a woody bitterness in the end.
A darker brown, so clarity is hard to tell, but it looks fairly clear. Temporary lacing from the beige-ish head. Nose is fighting for being more toasty or more nutty, but I’ll go with the former, slightly.
Feel is medium light, with a little boldness of flavor boosting things a tad. Deep toast that stays short of being roasty. There’s a tang to dark fruit edge (maybe prune-like, but that shouldn’t be taken as bad). Nuttiness is a little lost, but overall, it’s a decent American brown.
