January 6 2025, can received as a gift.
Look: Pitch black with a tan head that dissipates and leaves some lacing. Looks good.
Smell: Milk chocolate, mocha, dark roasted coffee, toast.
Taste: Burnt toast up front, unsweet cola, hints of baker's chocolate, coffee and iron. A bitter, dry finish.
Feel: Medium body, pretty carbonated - maybe a touch too much.
Overall: This is a solid dry stout. There's a dry burnt toast quality to it with an accompanying bitterness, especially on the finish. I'd prefer a touch more chocolate malt flavor, but then I supposed it wouldn't be a dry stout. I'd definitely drink this again.

On tap in tasting room:
Creamy light tan head and shears of lacing look like a nitro pour even though it isn’t. There’s a nice roasty to charred toast aroma up front with a high percentage dark chocolate background. Flavor is considerably more towards the toast than chocolate, and finishes with a quote roasty bitter dryness. perhaps just a little too dry.

4/30/22 On tap at Short Story in Rivesville. Last hurrah of our trip.
Beautiful dark with nice nitro foam. Ashy, stoney flavor goes along with chalky, irony cocoa smell.
Not as ashy as the Bridge Works from yesterday, which is a good thing!
