This was another beer that I took a while to get around to, as I was given this late last year. Turned out to be relatively typical for the style, with plenty of body to keep this from feeling too light!
Brassy gold in hue with a moderate and fast-settling head, there wasn’t any lacing left behind as I sipped this. Lots of grass was in the nose with some floral notes behind that, as bit of lemon, citrus juice, and malt rounded out the taste. Filling for this style, this had a nice bite with a hint of bread that was plenty noticeable, given the light carbonation that this had. A bit of grain rounded this out as this was only a tad sour in the back.
No doubt that this was easy to drink as I never felt the alcohol and could have easily cracked open another can after finishing this off. Didn’t see a date anywhere but thankfully, this held up well over this year and it didn’t feel the least bit skunked. A brew like this is easy to enjoy year round and even though this wasn’t noteworthy, it was fine to kick back with on a humid late summer’s night.

From the can, it pours a clear golden color with a modest white head that lasts. Scent is grassy malt with possibly some citrus. The taste is a crisp malt beverage with highlights of lemon and grass.

I got a bottle of this from the Hampton Inn in downtown Roanoke, VA. It poured a hazy golden with no head and no lace. The scent had crystal malt and grain hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with grain and yeast presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a decent beer.

Pours a clear, golden, color with a thin white head that quickly fades. Smell is malty with some lemon and a hint of grass. Taste is bread malts, lemon, a touch sweet, with a hint of hops towards the finish. Crisp, lighter body. Solid, enough flavor to enjoy it, and refreshing. Works well for a helles lager.
