A 500ml bottle with a BB of Feb 2019. Purchased a little while back from the Wine Shop in Knaresborough. Described on the label as an American-style IPA with a big hoppy finish.
A: Poured into a tulip. A rich amber hue with intense carbonation and faint floating sediment. Produces a decent head of creamy white foam that lasts for a minute or so before subsiding to a patchy surface layer.
S: Aroma of leafy hops with hints of herbs, hay, mild pine, a touch of citrus peel, grainy malt, barley sugar and ale yeast. Decent enough but rather understated for an IPA.
T: Tastes of bitter leafy hops with notes of pine, weed, mild citrus peel, herbs, hay, grainy malt, barley sugar, ale yeast and faint earthiness. Very slight sweetness, followed by a robust hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and good body. Mildly astringent; dries the palate. Aftertaste of bitter leafy hops, light pine/weed, herbs, grainy malt and ale yeast.
O: OK; a well-crafted brew that doesn't stand out from the crowd. Looks alright, while the aroma and flavour are a blend of bitter leafy hops, grain and ale yeast. Nice body. Drinkable but a tad forgettable. No need to hunt it down.
