We use 5 lbs of local honey per barrel from Long’s Honey Farm in Hershey, Nebraska to brew this smooth wheat ale with a noticeable honey finish.

Served on tap at the brewery in a tumbler. I’ve put it in the Wit category because I think that’s the closest fit; the brewer calls it a “honey beer.”

Look: Yellow gold, with a one-finger white head that dissipated pretty quickly leaving a foam ring and adequate very-finely-bubbled lacing.

Nose: A bit of lemon, a bit of honey.

Attack: The witbier character comes through, with the wheat basis, a bit of orange, and some spiciness, perhaps coriander?

Finish: Slight bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium thin, appropriate to style, near perfect carbonation.

Overall: Not as intense as many Belgian Wits — the addition of the honey arranges that — and immensely drinkable. A great summer beer,
