A dark lager fermented with German yeast, this style deserves more love. It’s subtly roasty, with notes of cocoa powder and milk chocolate on a crisp, clean body.

I know I've tried this in the past, surprised I've never reviewed it.
Purchased at the taproom -- where I also had it on tap. Canned 01.27.26. Poured into a wide, stout mug.
L -- Deep, dark chestnut with a dense, light tan head that holds up well.
S -- Roasted malts, clay earthiness, herbal hops, light cocoa.
T -- Roasted malts up front with mellow dark fruit and spicy, herbal hops. Spicy bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Some light cocoa in the aftertaste.
F -- Body is medium with a crisp, dry mouthfeel.
O -- A nice rendition of the style. The draft I had at the taproom was much smoother, less dry, but I like having the can for home enjoyment.

Canned 9/21/23; drank 11/5/23 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dark brown appearance.
A rough pour yielded a HUGE tan head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lacing remained.
Cocoa, autumn leaves, mild black coffee & faint orange citrus notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Mild caramel & autumn leaf flavors up front; mild black coffee & orange citrus notes on the finish.
Balanced & tasty; I'd have another.
