7/14/24 - (Can - Home) (Chicago, IL) Can Notes: Purchased 7/1/24 from Beer on the Wall at store temperature for $3.98 including tax, refrigerated upon returning home until opening this morning. 16 oz canned 6/21/24, can stamp Visit Our Taproom. Mexican-Style Lager, 4.5% ABV. Brewed & Canned by Roaring Table Brewing, 739 W. State Route 22, Lake Zurich, Illinois.
Appearance: Poured the first half of the glass into a tall Pilsner glass. Faint straw color, light carbonation tails off early, generous white head leaves light lacing and a razor thin cover over the glass. 3.5
Aroma: Faint cereal or grain, really had to try hard for that pull. 2.5
Taste: Salty the first sensation, though that could be specific to my warped salt palate, followed by sweet Wonder bread, buttered corn on the cob and light pepper. 3.0
Mouthfeel: Sweet corn and salt overall, drinks light. Carbonation felt more than seen. Sweet and cloying now half way in, sweetness on the finish. 2.5
Overall: This beer is a disappointment, mirrors several aspects of what I don't like about AALs, verses what I do enjoy. Perhaps others my like this, but it is not for me. 2.75

Pours a crystal clear light golden color. Thin, lackluster white head forms but quickly disappears. No residual head whatsoever. Moderately effervescent.
Aroma is pretty straightforward - notes of corn, white bread with a subtle DMS note coming through.
Taste has notes of corn, white bread, some light DMS notes, and a hint of hops on the back end. Somewhat sweet with a light honey like note.
Feel is light, crisp, and easy drinking. Light, prickly carbonation.
Overall a solid, albeit forgettable AAL.

Feeble, short lived foam, pale gold, a few bubs, apple juice appearance.
Corn and play-doh aroma, white bread and grain husks.
Weird flavor, heavy corn with some heavy handed yeast and bitterness.
Flabby feel, carb ebbs after half the glass, less than light.
Overall one and done. Not especially refreshing, takes bad beer inspiration in the wrong direction.

Had on tap. Mostly clear light very light gold with a white cap. Smell and taste both focus on the corn adjunct with mild grains and malt. Simple yet well balanced. Feel is crisp, clean, generally malty but is pretty thin. Great on hot day, otherwise lack anchoring to draw you back over other mexican lagers
