California-style Pilsner
Brewed with our friends from the big city, Hop Butcher, this modern take on a hoppy, crushable lager incorporates elements we've come to love from West Coast IPA's, Cold IPA's, and noble European pilsner beers. Don't overthink it, just drink it!

Pours a crystal clear pale golden straw color. Thick, frothy white sudsy head forms on the beer, lingers momentarily before dissipating until just a thin layer of foam remains. Aroma has notes of wood, fruit, some tropical notes with a touch of peach. It's quite nice - the Mittelfruh give it a more old world aroma, but the citra and nectaron bring that fruitiness to it.
Taste is initially defined by a crisp malt backbone with notes of cracker and hay. On that backbone the hops are able to shine through and liger into the finish. The hops provide notes of melon, white grape, peach, and some light citrus notes. Moderately bitter on the finish with a slight lingering woody-bitter note. Feel is light, crisp, easy drinking and bright. Bright carbonation. Dry finish.
So, this drinks like a dry IPL - and I love it. Great beer, wish I had grabbed more of it.

Tasted in a Spiegelau pilsner glass from a one pint can on October 10, 2022. A California style pilsner brewed in collaboration with Hop Butcher. Bright look, hoppy taste and crisp feel.
