Dry and roasty, this Foreign Extra-inspiried sipper takes the path less travelled after conditioning on cacao nibs and vanilla. Expect a fully attenuated beer that still delivers the big chocolate energy you know and love!

16oz can ours a deep brown black with a mountain of dense, light brown colored head that continues to expand quite a bit in the glass. Smell is distant roasted malt notes. Taste is dominated by roasted and burnt malt notes with a heft of smokiness. Hardly taste any of the chocolate or vanilla notes it's supposed to have; I get mostly coffee instead. Decent bit of bitterness and some astringency, but no real hop character. Mouthfeel is heavy carbonation with some creaminess and a somewhat sour finish.
The coffee flavor, smokiness, and sour finish are honestly overpowering and more or less ruin the beer.

Canned 11/3/22; drank 11/30/22 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
An even pour yielded a big noisy tan head; strong, frothy lace.
Chocolate, mild vanilla & faint fresh earth notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Chocolate, mild vanilla & faint fresh earth flavors.
A solid stout that wasn't too sweet, despite the additives.
