5/19/24 - (Can - Home) (Chicago, IL) - Can Notes: Purchased from Beer on the Wall 5/1/24 for $3.98 at store temperature, refrigerated upon returning home until opening. 16 oz canned on 3/27/24, can stamp "visit our taproom". 4.2% ABV, Czech-Style Pale Lager, Hops Saaz. Brewed & canned by Roaring Table Brewing, 739 W. IL Route 22, Lake Zurich, Illinois.

Appearance: Poured about 3/4 of the can into a mug with the same height. Creamy soapy head lingers for a couple minutes with minimal lacing before leaving a creamy cover over the heavily carbonated golden semi-clear base. 3.75

Aroma: Saaz hops reporting for duty, cracker, light salt and pepper, some mineral water and grassy notes. 4.0

Taste: Consistent with the aroma, base sweet malty above the Saaz hops, which fight the good fight. Salty with lighter grass than on the nose. 4.0

Mouthfeel: Light carbonation sustained throughout, drinks light and easy, sweetness adds a bit of perceived body. Salty cracker finish. 3.75

Overall: This is a solid Pale lager, features the Saaz well, a bit more malty sweet than my personal preference, but still a good offering I'd order down the road. 3.75

Had on tap. Clear golden body with a white head. Pilsner malt, herbal hops in nose, simpler. Taste has rustic yeast with grassy and herbal hops, malt backbone is light but nothing more than a base, slight honey added as it warms. Feel is pale and light, easy on palate, clean while still giving the yeast its due

Canned 3/27/24; drank 3/29/24 @ the Yarchives.

See-through dull orange appearance; champagne bubbles throughout.

A rough pour yielded a big, noisy white head; strong, frothy tree-rung lacing remained.

Raw wheat, mild skunk spray & faint honey notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Sweet corn & hints of wheat flavor up front; faint skunk spray notes on the finish.

Smelled skunkier than it tasted; it's actually quite pleasant. I'd have another.
