Canned 9/20/24; drank 1/2/25 @ the Yarchives.
See-through dull orange/yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a small off-white head; decent lacing remained.
Smoky bacon & faint wheat notes in the nose. No mistaking the style, here.
Medium mouthfeel.
Smoky bacon & faint honeyed wheat flavors. Sweet & smoky.
Drinkable, but not one I enjoyed that much. I'll stick to Schlenkerla...

L -- Clear pale gold with a thin white head.
S -- Doughy malt, DMS, light woody smoke.
T -- Mellow smoked malt up front with a nice doughy balance. Touch of herbal hop flavor and bitterness in the finish with the doughiness and mellow smoke rounding out the aftertaste.
F -- Mouthfeel is soft and smooth with a light to light-medium body.
O -- Well damn if RT doesn't have Rauchbier down to an art. This beer stands up to anything I've had from Bamberg -- in person or imported. It's smoother than any Schlenkerla Helles I've had from the bottle and would probably stand against a fresh pour from the tap room.
