An unfiltered "zwickle" Pilsner with bright, floral noble hops (Mittelfruh, Saaz & Tettnang) on a delicate malt body reminiscent of shortbread. Unfussy and eminently sessionable!

Can purchased from the brewery on 5/18/25. Canned on 2/18/2025.
A very pleasant, slightly "unpolished" pilsner. It's clear and clean enough that I'd never guess it was a zwickel pilsner unless told so, though the bottom of the can does have a substantial amount of yeast/debris in it (adding the yeast dilutes the flavor of the beer, though not so much the aroma). Quite good, at times reminding me of some of the best lagers I've had in Germany. I'd have another.
Off-white foam with better than average retention, fading to a thin ring around the perimeter of the glass and a few small islands of film atop the body. Lacing good, not great, modest blotches, dots, and patterns on all sides of the glass. Body a golden yellow in the glass, with light bringing out pale yellow hues. Transparent, though enough sediment at bottom of can to make this almost fully opaque.
Aroma of light pale maltiness with a touch of sweet bread, light sulfur, and a touch of lemon-lime hops.
Flavor quite nice, of medium-light hop spiciness with pale maltiness and modest sweet bread characters, lemon-lime like noble hops, and gentle hop bitterness and spiciness. Front: lemon-lime-like noble hop flavor with faint woodsiness, slightly more prominent than the light pale malt sweetness. Mid: continued lemon-like noble hop flavor blended with a more prominent light sulfur character, low hop spiciness and bitterness, and a light underlying pale malt sweetness/character with a touch of sweet bread. Back: somewhat more prominent hop bitterness and spiciness (to a medium-low level) atop less pronounced sulfur, lemon-lime-like hops, and faint hints of sweetish pale maltiness in the background. After: lingering medium-low hop bitterness and low hop spiciness, faint background notes of sulfur and light pale maltiness.
Beer is medium-light in body, with carbonation of fairly high intensity, resulting in a fully foamy mouthfeel (small bubbles) that works for the beer and the style. Closes dry, with light stickiness on lips.

Had on tap. Cloudy yellow pour with a plump white head and plenty of sporadic yet thick lacing. Full yeast and grassy hops with honeyed grain and lemon zest in the nose. Taste has the yeast and hops carry, grassy forward, with grainy cracker and a little honeycomb before the hoppier finish. Fuller body, creamy and smooth with bitters on the finish. This is a nice zwickel for early spring

Canned 2/18/25; drank 3/12/25 @ the Yarchives.
Cloudy dull yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice bright white head; strong, frothy tree-rung lacing.
Soft wheat & mild honey notes in the nose.
Soft medium mouthfeel.
Soft wheat & mild honey flavors up front; faint pine bite on the finish.
A soft, enjoyable, balanced Zwickel. I'd have another!
