Poured from 500mL can into my Bierwerk Züri becher. Best by 6/25/26.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a clear body and a moderate effervescence; head is a finger of ivory foam.
Smell: kind of a plan graininess, but not overly astringent nor overly sweet. There's a bit of a bright hop aroma here, too. Maybe not brilliant but totally serviceable.
Taste: moderately sweet with an almost lemony hop character that I strongly associate with hop water or even NA IPAs. I am guessing this has to do with the "hop extract" on the ingredients list? Like the aroma, not brilliant but not bad.
Mouthfeel: medium body with decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this beer isn't ever gonna be my favorite, but for a mass-market beer, you could do lots worse.
I don't know that I would have added this as a "Belgian pale ale", but it's basically within that style's guidelines -- you could have just called it an American blonde ale as well. Dreher doesn't have any marketing materials indicating either.
