16 oz glass acclimated to 48°F and poured into an IPA glass.
Pours hazy, a orange pale enough to border on yellow, with an almost immediately dissipating 1 finger, sudsy white head, leaving almost zero lacing.
Initial aroma is lemon, pine, and sharply hoppy. After agitating, I'm met with accentuated pine, a hint of soap, and continued biting hoppiness.
Initial taste before swallowing is sharp and bitter hops, some pine, and a hint of soapiness. After swallowing, the sharp bitterness and soapiness continue, followed by something waxy and warm tasting after a moment. This is logically the honey but it doesn't taste strongly of honey to me. The bitterness I find to be fitting, and at a reasonable level, it lasts into the aftertaste, mellowing some. The honey also lasts into the aftertaste, where it becomes more clearly honey. I still don't know if I'd recognize it blind. Letting it sit for a long time, however, it becomes clear that it's honey, and is an agreeable taste.
Mouthfeel has that nice creaminess/juiciness that NEIPAs have, which I enjoy. It doesn't quite glide, but it flows gushes/flows enthusiastically and nicely. It lends a pleasurable feel to the experience, as well as a boost in drinkability.
Overall it's a bit of a letdown. It tastes exactly like a NEIPA should, but I had hoped for more noticeable honey. I want let down by the flavor present that was there, just by what wasn't there. As a NEIPA, it's great and hits that spot.
I don't think I'll buy again but I'm not saying no, it could certainly happen! Wouldn't recommend, however.
