16oz can picked up at Cheap Charlie's in Gresham, OR; first from Varietal
Poured into a Level Belgian-style tulip

p- deep gold/orange w/ a 1-2f white head; a good amount of sticky lacing left behind
n- funky aroma that caught me off-guard; overripe fruit (peach?) and a strange chemical note
t- earthy and green hops, w/ a hint of melon in the mix; med tartness; very little sweetness; hops dominate the malt profile; just alright
mf- med verging on med-full bodied soft-med carb
o- didn't care much for this one; the profile wasn't enough to make up for the weird nose; not the first impression of the brewery I was hoping to get, unfortunately

16oz tallboy can can purchased at Nectar Wine & Beer in Kendall Yards, Spokane, Washington, for $4.99. According to the tiny and smudged stamp on the bottom of the can, this was canned on June 18, 2020...I think.

Poured into a shaker pint glass, this was a mostly, but not entirely, opaque shade of tangerine. Modest, off-white head.

An aroma like mandarin oranges dominates the nose. I also get some tropical fruit and berry scents, but the orangey aroma sticks out the most.

Sweet and fruity up front, with a pithy bitterness in the background thst lends just enough contrast to keep things interesting. Mildly Dry at the swallow.

Typical, soft mouthfeel for the style. Like a "standard" IPA (what even is that, anymore?) that has had it's sharp corners sanded smooth.

Not bad. A hazy that still has some character, plus it's drinkability is through the roof. Nice work, Varietal.
