Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a quarter finger khaki head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, milk chocolate and hints of vanilla and coconut. Flavor is dark toasted malt with light char, chocolate, coffee and a touch of coconut; thins out in the finish, but leaves a pleasant coffee and chocolate aftertaste. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Nicely flavored stout with great coffee and chocolate notes and a little coconut, especially in the finish. Although the flavor drops off a bit into the finish, this is remarkably full flavored for a 4% stout. I'm not sure I would have picked it up at that ABV because I've been drinking big BA stouts lately and would feel I couldn't do a small stout justice. I would have been wrong, because this I quite impressive looking and tasting at that ABV. Well done.
