cool packaging on this one, and cool that these guys are sending beer out to idaho, i have enjoyed their stuff in limited exposure thus far. that said, neither of the two ipas i had in a recent session have been particularly fresh, not too far gone, but not in their prime either, and that diminishes enjoyment obviously. this one is done with a host of classic northwestern varietals, has big pine and melon notes in the nose and some lightly sweet malt behind them, but tastes a little more mild than it smells, some orange in the mix now, juicy grapefruit, a pop of gin botanicals, but also on the maltier side with a honey note through it and a longer finish in the absence of much bitterness. chinook can be kind of citrus forward in a dry hop context, doesnt always have to manifest itself as high alpha, and i like that side of it, which is on display nicely here. the fermentation is pretty clean, but the fade on this is apparent and i cant help but feel like i am missing its best. that said, its another fun brewery to have in the market here and i am excited to continue drinking through their lineup. the pricing seems fair, they all look cool, and the beers have been pretty darn modern so far. id like to hit the brewery sometime this summer and try the hoppy stuff in its full glory...

16oz can from Brewers Haven. Hazy orange golden pour, soft white, creamy head. Light bready, malty aroma with some citrus notes. More of the soft citrus tangy flavors, full creamy, gentle. Very mellow.

16oz can (dated 1/25/21) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a fully murky, muddy orange color with almost 2 inches of white head that had good retention and light lacing.
Loads of bright, sharp hops, with just a hint of grain in the background.
Same on the tongue; not much grain/malt, but lots of sharp hops.
The body was light, smooth, and had a mildly bitter finish.
Drinkability was good, there was enough hop flavor to keep me interested throughout the can.
Overall, while typical-looking (ugly) for a murkbomb, the hop comb lets ya know you're not drinking a childs lunch. Worth your time if you see it.
