From the Varietal Beer Co. website: Warm yourself up with this sweet stout in the style of a classic Mexican hot chocolate. Brewed with barley, corn, oats, brown sugar & milk sugar then flavored with additions of Cinnamon, Cocoa & Vanilla for a chill version the spiced chocolate warmer.

Poured from 16oz can into my BeerAdvocate teku. Best by May 2024.
Appearance: rich dark color, it’s body is nearly black. head is a thick finger of frothy tan foam. Looks good!
Smell: lightly sweet aroma with a bit of chocolate and a kind of creaminess to the aroma that might be lactose or might be the vanilla. The cinnamon certainly comes through as well, but it’s a bit on the harsh side and I think detracts a bit from this beer’s other qualities.
Taste: a nice, classic milk stout kind of flavor with just the right amount of chocolate and vanilla. The cinnamon adds kind of a warming touch; it’s not as discordant here as in the aroma. A nice little treat.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and a really nice, smooth creaminess. I’m into it.
Overall: a nice spiced stout. The vanilla is kept rather subdued, which I like, and the cinnamon, while kind of harsh on the nose, is nicely potent in the flavor. A good beer.
