A: Poured from the half-growler into a Piraat tulip/snifter-type glass. Body is clear golden-orangey with no real head.

S: Nice nose of sweeter tropical fruit - think overripe melons, papaya - with a touch of candied orange peel.

T: Follows the nose, with sweeter flavors dominating. Brown sugary malt foundation, followed by overripe peaches & cantaloupe, with some ripe oranges, but then finishing with a touch of piney bitterness that keeps this from being a complete diabetic sugar-bomb of a nightmare. ABV heat felt in the belly after a couple sips.

M: Slick. Syrupy. Low carbonation.

O: OK for a DIPA, but I probably wouldn't get it again.

Canned July 2018; drank 8/15/18 @ the Yarchives.

See-through orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big white head; a thick curtain of frothy lace.

Honeydew, pine, caramel & booze heat notes in the nose.

Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.

Pine & caramel flavors up front; table sugar & booze heat notes on the finish.

An old-model IPA that's drinkable, if unpleasant.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a snifter glass. Had an amber-gold color and a cloudy consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Very good lacing.

S: An enticing aroma of hops, citrus fruit, malt, and pine.

T: Tasted of a little bit of malt (not overly pronounced), a good shot of dank hops, lots of citrus fruit (grapefruit, in particular), a mild amount of pine, and a light floral quality. This is a focused and complex flavor. More dank than the typical DIPA, but the fruit elements balance it out. Quite delicious.

F: A solid amount of carbonation with a vibrant finish. Medium-bodied.

O: One of the more enjoyable DIPAs I've tried recently. Sweet, powerful, and flavorful.

16 oz can poured into a Pilsner glass.

Golden blonde. Very slight haze. 1 finger of creamy white head. Light carbonation.

Peach syrup, pine, dank, honey, and candy sugar.

Peach syrup, pine sap, pine needle, and a sticky dankness. Grassy and earthy with some sharp grapefruit notes. Honey and candy sugar maltiness.

Medium-plus bodied, silky, oily, crisp, and juicy with a light bitterness.

This one is dank, pungent, and green. Bursting with flavor!

No canning date

Pours a semi-opaque golden copper with a big, two-finger off-white head.

Aroma of soft floral notes against malt-laden hops; clean, earthy pine makes a nice overall impression.

Taste brings in some good, deep resinous tones based in pine, earth, and hops; notes of soft peach, pine resin, cedar, grapefruit. and orange peel are also present; very earthy, but fleetingly dank, tropical, and sweet.

Now this is stellar: the mouthfeel levels a nice body with the balanced dankness to create something both potently crisp, earthy, and even juicy. The drinkability is excellent here, with absolutely no sign of the beer's 9% ABV.

This drinks like a great West-Coast IPA with some careful New England IPA leanings; dank and crisp, but soft and so drinkable. It's a big beer that takes no effort to drink, and really showcases how nuanced the resinous elements can become. A very enjoyable drink.
