Perfection is a painfully unattainable illusion in the minds of those burdened by the perpetual and gruesome anxiety of obsession. Luckily we know ourselves and have decoded the secret formula to transmute that horrible burden into sophistication! You see, the horrible anxiety that went into determining the “perfect” blend of El Dorado and Moutere hops, led to this sophisticated little number you’ve got in your hand. Powerful aromas and flavors of tropical lime, juicy passion fruit, pineapple ambrosia, and ‘nilla wafers in this beer tells us that this hop union got us as close to our delusion of perfection as we’ll ever get!

A: The beer is very hazy hazy yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that died down, leaving a small patch of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of pear and grapefruit are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of grapefruit along with underlying notes of pears and hints of stone fruit. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and slightly juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I enjoyed the combination of grapefruit and pear in this New England-style IPA as it was an unusual combination.

Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a cloudy golden/orange body beneath a full sized head of white foam that's holding remarkably well. It looks like a Bavarian hefeweizen. The aroma is citrusy and piney with notes of orange, mango, melon, and peach. The flavor isn't quite as bright with fruit but it remains hoppy with some additional herbal notes. The malt comes through, simply bready, and gently sweet, and that accentuates an unusual vanilla-like note that mainly shows up towards the finish. I'm assuming that's from hops because the label doesn't say anything about additional ingredients or flavorings. A solid bitterness also backs it as well, and it finishes dry and bitter with a little bit of pine and herb lingering. In the mouth it's medium bodied but with a fuller feel because of all of the extra proteins. It's gently crisp and then smooth. Overall it's plenty hoppy, a little bit unusual, and really well made. I could go for more of this.

Very good head production, retention, and lacing. Body is a thick, hazy lemon yellow, without any of the floaties for which FO has become rather notorious.

Hoppy nose, at first sharply herbal and slightly pungent, but revealing tropical and citrus fruit as you go. Oregano, pepper, lemon, mandarin orange, mango, pineapple, and banana.

Similar presentation on the palate, with a puree-like blend of juices, not unlike a thin fruit smoothie sprinkled with herbs. Papaya, kiwi, banana, mandarin orange, mango, pineapple, pepper.

Smooth and thick body, but still quite lively.

Pours cloudy gold.color.with a three finger off white dense head that leaves great lacing rings and fair retention. Aroma is moderately strong with apricot or peach notes. Interesting because the flavor has a distinctive dankness over stonefruit not on the nose. The finish has a bit of a sweet, toasted wafer to it. Feel is soft. A little bitterness but mostly juice-like.

This is a really interesting beer that grew on me as i went along. I really like the wafer finish.
