Growler from Premium Draught in Houston.
A: Pours with a touch of chilled haze. A golden/yellow color. A small white head forms and recedes to a ring that sticks throughout. Light filmy lace.
S: A very simple nose. Lemon rind a bit of minerality. Toasted grains, and can tell there is a good amount of acidity just from the nose. Really enjoyable.
T: Lemon rind up front that is tart and acidic. A touch of a mineral quality. Toasted grains, and that tartness lingers on to make this very moreish.
M/O: A light body that is effervescent. Crisp carbonation and very dry. Really easy to drink. I will be putting the growler away with ease. Just enough tart pull on the palate to make me want to keep coming back.
This reminds me of old school Saint Arnold Boiler Room. Which was pretty much the first widely available Berliner Weiss in Texas (Freetail, Jester King, and Austin Beerworks had all done at least one before, but at the time none were readily available). Just a simple tart/acidic and toasted malt character which I really enjoy. Perfect for the Houston heat.
