A: Pours with a beautiful clarity, actually pleasantly surprised at this. Bring back clarity to any type of Pales Ales is my motto now. A pale straw yellow color with a two finger white head. Excellent retention and lace all the way down the glass.
S: All hops in the nose, citrus fruit, melon, and grapes show up as this warms. Simple but very nice.
T: Citrus and lemon rind up front. Light melon flavors and as this warms, more of that signature New Zealand grape and peppery spice showing up. A bit woody, with cracker like malts. Lingering bitterness is nice.
M/O: A medium body with crisp carbonation. Super clean and finishes dry. Very enjoyable and really easy to drink overall.
Yeah, this is a good Pale Ale. Nothing is over the top, and all is well balanced. I don't think I have had anything with Wai-iti hops before, but does have some classic Nelson characteristics. Well made and recommended for the Houston area.
