A: Pours a near opaque black color. With a two finger tan head that forms. Good retention and plenty of lace left behind. As I like to say, this is a looker.
S: A simple aroma, but really nice. Big malts is the show. Roast, coffee,. Baked bread and dry bakers chocolate, and just warming and inviting.
T: Like the nose, all malts. With a roasted coffee and bakers chocolate flavor. A lovely bready flavor as well. Again, really inviting, with a lingering dry bitterness.
M/O: A light to medium body. Though appropriately weighty for the style and ABV. Ultra smooth, but with enough bite to let you know there is carbonation. Oh, yeah, and beautifully dry. Which makes this all really enjoyable to drink.
There needs to be more Irish Dry Stouts like this (not on Nitro). There also needs to be more porters/stouts in general like this. Just simple and enjoyable to drink. Without any flavor additives, or being overly sweet and boozy. This is perfectly simple and highly recommended.
