Pours golden straw and clear, with no visible carbonation. The head forms a three inch, pure white cloud that slowly settles, then holds one and a half inches for the duration. Ample patches of lace are left on a Laura pilsner glass.
The aroma opens with crisp grain and sharp, spicy hops. A fair amount of lemongrass accompanies some pine and peppery watercress.
The malt is rich with lightly toasted farmers' bread. Modest bitterness contrasts with light sweetness. Celery builds into a brief and mild finish. A few seconds later, the finish returns to linger with watercress and celery.
The alcohol is about as expected, as is the soft carbonation. It has a medium body and texture of combed wool. The finish has a light metallic edge.
This was a fine choice for an early autumn afternoon. It matched the crisp, clear, sunny sky as leaves rustled in the yard.
