Ale Fermented in Oak

Field Blend is an exercise in embracing time as a source of wonder rather than an instrument of control.

This is one of an ongoing series of beers which exist because of an intersection of elements which presented themselves. As such it is less a reflection of intent and more synchronicity.

2020 Pluot, Cherry, and Raspberry Field Blend was made from a blend of barrel fermented and aged beers refermented on organic pluots from Collins Family Orchards, organic Balaton cherries from Apple Cart Fruit, and red raspberries from Graysmarsh Farm.

This beer was refermented to condition in the bottle.

Largely clear dark amber to pale red with a moderately tall white head settling to a densely bubbly off-white blanket.

Softly effervescent and mildly funky at first, a unique melange of cherry and raspberry sharpen it up, accented by a touch of herbal bushberry-like qualities.

Medium purple reddish body. Rich cherry skin, that distinct balaton character shines. Mildly tart raspberry with sweet stonefruit flesh. Light lemon, touch grainy with a mild leather bite. Fruit forward. Medium body, soft acidity, nice fruit expression.
