A robust porter fermented with Madagascar vanilla, Vermont maple syrup, Saigon cinnamon and coffee. We took our Defensive Pancake base and turned into French toast in a glass. Drink with breakfast!

Poured from a 16 oz can into a New Belgium Globe Glass
The beer pours an dark brown (nearly black) with a huge dense tan head that slowly recedes leaving behind a thin cap and very little lacing
The aroma is maple syrup, vanilla, roasted malts, and coffee. A little milder than I had anticipated
The flavor, like the nose, is maple syrup, vanilla, and coffee. There is also a hint of cinnamon. Medium bodied and moderately carbonated, the beer is slick on the tongue and lingers on the palate.
Overall the beer is good, but could stand to be just a bit bolder

I’m a sucker for maple syrup in any form. I’d snort it if I could. This is easier, in liquid 16 oz. cans.
Porter black. Not much for aroma – light vanilla, malts. Modest.
Defensive French Toast begs the questions, where’d all them ingredients go? This tastes like a slightly sweet porter; even the usually overbearing cousin cinnamon is muted & scarce showing. Thin as is appropriate for its weight class.
Meh. Highly mediocre with one more ding for advertising stuff that I can’t taste. Sub-par.
