An open-ended worldwide collab with Other Half Brewing Company, this beer was brewed to help displaced Charlotte hospitality workers affected by COVID-19! Other Half shared a base recipe and encouraged breweries to put their own spin on it. In typical DBB fashion, we converted it to a bitterboi. It was brewed with 2-row and oats, then vigorously dry-hopped with Citra, Simcoe & Mosaic. This is a hop bomb exploding with notes of sticky pine tar, freshly picked hemp and juicy, dripping oranges. This one’s for you Charlotte!

A: Pours a very lightly hazy pale golden yellow in color with moderate to heavy amounts of active visible carbonation streaming from the bottom of the glass and moderate bright yellow + honey colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy off-white head that slowly reduces to a couple of small patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Slightly heavier than moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy citrus/orange, pine/resin, herbal, and dank resinous hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of biscuit + pale + oat malts with a minimal amount of sweetness.
T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of biscuit + pale + oat malts with a minimal amount of sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy citrus/orange, pine/resin, herbal, and dank resinous hops which impart a moderate amount of aggressive bitterness which lingers for quite a while.
M: Slightly heavier than light bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Initially slightly crisp with a light amount of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly crisp + aggressively bitter mouthfeel. Enjoyable and a different take from many of the others doing this beer by turning it into a West Coast style IPA.
