Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Beaming golden dark amber body, flirting with bronze and a real deep brass yellow shine. Fine carbonation reaching to a slightly off white head, billowing and thick reaching easy three to four fingers in height. Island dolloped in the middle like cream and great fluffy loose but small bubbles all around.
Delicious, mellow and bountiful nose. Gumdrop fruit candy with touches of light grapefruit, orange, and lemon. Soft mellow herbs, a faint touch of malt sweetness and caramel round out for some balance, but a real nice hop expression if nothing too mind blowing.
Palate is a right set. Big hits in the mid palate of light citrus fruit, but an even rich depth of malt and candied like tasting hops to go with it. Gumdrop orange and ruby red grapefruit, mixing with some bright citrus oils, leafy and pine like bitternes as well. Earthy and minty nearly wintergreen finish giving to a wonderful cooling sensation and contrasting bitterness to the front palate.
Excellent IPA.
