Much like the force, this Cold IPA strikes a balance between the delicate nature of a lager with the power of hops! We brewed this lager base with rice to help make it a refreshingly clean, and then came out firing like Chewy’s bowcaster with a blast of Simcoe, Citra and El Dorado hops to impart notes of pineapple, clementine and pine!

This is really a Cold IPA...says so on the can. Completely meets the style...an ale but like a light hoppy lager. Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer features a pale, light gold color and a foamy white head with better than average retention. Good lacing on the glass. The mix of Simcoe, Citra and El Dorado hops provide a mostly citrus aroma and flavor (grapefruit) but there is also a floral aspect and a little pine (although not resiny). Mouthfeel is light and crisp, like a lager but there is some decent bitterness too. Went well with a crab legs dinner.

Look: It pours yellow, but on the golden side. It is clear with a white head. Head retention is good.
Smell: It has strong grapefruit aromas with some pine and floral elements.
Taste: It has strong grapefruit flavors with some pine and floral elements. There are very low levels of melon well into the background. There is a bit of grassiness to it, but not to an objectionable level.
Feel: It has a medium body with strong bitterness, but not harsh.
Overall, a nice easy drinking IPA with grapefruit as the feature, but with other elements that make for a flavorable beer.
