This traditional German-style Hefe delivers a heady aroma of clove and spice, followed by subdued notes of banana. The soft, silky texture rounds out a beer experience you won’t soon forget.

Pint can, canned on.... oops, illegible month / 22 / 23. Served in a pint glass. Very pale and yellow appearance, mostly clear but just a hint of haze, thin head. Not a promising start! But the scent is interesting with a bit of lemony wheat and spice. Flavor brings on really big spice, unexpectedly a lot. Clove and allspice and a suggestion of ginger. If this wasn't a hefeweiss I would suspect it's a winter warmer (obviously not because of the malt body). But maybe it is a Belgian style wit rather than a German style? Except no, the label very clearly reads Bavarian Hefe.

In any case, I'm really enjoying the spice flavors here. And thankfully I get zero notes of banana.

16oz can (dated 3/1*/20. The ink was blurred, couldn't read that number) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a lightly cloudy pale yellow, a bit clearer than is expected in a hefe, and I inverted the can a couple times before I opened it in an attempt to get the goodies in suspension. The beer had 1-1/2 inches of white head that had good retention and light lacing.

The aroma had the expected yeast, banana, and clove scents, with a bit of wheat in the background. The same on the tongue, all the notes were there, just very muted.

The body was smooth, even, and had a medium finish.

Drinkability was fine, but not exciting.

Overall, an averageish brew, and one that is a bit of a let-down from the other brews I've had from them. Still, given the dearth of Hefe's in the NW, it was an enjoyable pour on a warm afternoon.

This is just a really good Hefeweizen, in the lighter style but full of flavor and fragrance. Pours a pale yellow with an abundance of foam in the tall Blanche de Chambly glass. Surprisingly rich, even though the body is marshmellow light.

Plenty of clove aroma with banana in the nose (where else). Sudsy and carbonated in the mouth-filling German style. It's rather sweet for the airy lightness, but tha's part of the pleasure. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. I'm going to see if they have more of this.
