Take the plunge with this emerging style of IPA — the Deadman's Bay Cold IPA. Brewed with lager yeast at ale temperatures, this beer showcases the American IPA in a new light: hop forward tropical aromas, a firm bitterness, with a light and crisp finish. Wetsuit recommended.

Crystal clear amber brew with plenty of foam in the Brigand chalice. Sprightly carbonation and rather sweet to start. Fruity aroma with woody nose. Modest bitterness with some resiny and grainy flavors. While quite drinkable, this tastes like many of the other "Cold IPAs." That berry flavor with the mineral finish seems so distinctive. I didn't think the yeast and brewing temp would make all the difference, but it's so unlike a traditional IPA. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station.
