Appearance: Pours a tawny cranberry color with a massive, slightly mauve head that slowly but steadily fades to a collar, leaving just a few shards
Smell: Funky, tart and oaky with a strong European red wine grape varietal aroma
Taste: Funky and tart, at the outset, with underlying Barbera grape flavors; oaky with growing tart flavors blossoming on the tastebuds; dry finish
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with low to moderate carbonation; quite puckery
Overall: This is a magnificent fruited wild ale with a lot of complexity; it captures the earthy elements of European wine
