Purchased online in Kigali Rwanda. The beer has a gold foil covering over the top of the bottle. Poured from the 330mL bottle into a mug. The beer is a really opaque brown topped with a nice frothy 2.5 finger dark tan head with a couple of minutes of retention. A surprisingly good looking stout.
Smell is toasted malt and caramel with a bit of brown bread. Brown sugar and a hint of earth.
Taste is caramel with slightly sweet bread notes laced with brown sugar. A bit lighter than expected, but tasty.
Mouthfeel is somewhat thin, but I feel like that is sometimes pretty common for these kinds of international foreign export style stouts.
Overall: This may be a new go to for me here in Rwanda. Good taste, light enough to drink even in the heat or in all types of weather. Goes well with savory food (I had this one with some chili beef). Super affordable at under 2$ a bottle. If you come across this in Rwanda, grab it.
