Poured from the 500mL bottle into a mug in Kigali, Rwanda. The beer is advertised as a "dark ale" which I take to mean a Brown Ale. The beer itself is indeed dark brown and hazy when held to light. Head was a foamy light tan with a minute or so of retention.
S: Not a ton going on here but not offensive. I was looking for some caramel or roasted character. I got some brown sugar and a hint of some light sweetness. A light nuttiness but nothing major.
T: Some fruit on the tip of the tongue. No bitterness here. A residual sweetness and a surprisingly clean finish with just a light maltiness lingering. Medium body with a bit of carbonation.
Overall: This was a surprisingly drinkable beer here in Rwanda. I was expecting some Euro dark lager type flavor, but this was something different here. Preferred over the usual pale fare.
