Pours a clear, golden amber coloration with a large, fluffy head and very slightly visible carbonation. Smells of biscuity, grainy malt and floral, herbal, citrus hops. Taste is a good balance of biscuity, grainy malt and quite floral, slightly herbal, citrus hops, with notes of grapefruit and tangerine. Finishes bittersweet, with a light bitterness and some floral hops with citrus accents lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
While I think that this makes for a perfectly nice IPA and an interesting showcase of US/AU Cascade hops, it's just a terrible "West Coast inspired" brew in my opinion, as it completely lacks the resinous bitterness that I expect from the style. Overall though, while it's a bit too grainy, sweet and floral for my personal taste, it still makes for an enjoyable and interesting brew that is just not quite for me, while it also rather disappoints on the WCIPA vibe hinted at in the label notes.
