In the Trees, our Brewer's Choice beer by Jon Peachey, is inspired by the folk horror writings of M R James. This brew reflects a stroll through an East Anglian pinewood, a good trudge along a coastal spit of Suffolk shingle or an amble down a leaf strewn, high hedged lane. Jon has chosen Chinook and Idaho 7 hops for this haunting twist of a classic West Coast base, best consumed in a wingback armchair by a roaring fire.

Pours a dark reddish brown with fine, tan head.
Smell is fruity with notes of red Non-Stop, chocolate, pine, citrus and brown bread.
Taste is intense and fruity with a solid bitterness. Notes of chocolate, coffee grounds, pine and citrus.
Moutheel is medium, sticky and well carbonated.
Overall, a very nice red ale, intense but drinkable.
