For this Imperial stout we put together a mix of some of our favourite specialty malts to produce a huge malt base. We then blended in a strong and smokey maple syrup that melds with malt profile to create an intensely indulgent stout.

Copenhagen 3/3 2022. 44 cl can from Mikkeller web-shop. As Burnt Mill: Under the Moon Maple Edition. Very dark blue can with a golden dot hovering.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a mid-sized beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, flimsy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a dark, odor of licorice mingling with burnt sugar. Dark salty licorice, caramel and toffee. Rye bread. Light whiff of coffee.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, oily, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with medium strong sweetness followed by a strong, singed bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a long while. Finish is dry and bit austere.
Quite hard roasted, intense and a bit hostile.
